چکیده

This paper presents a novel approach of detecting special objects from high resolution satellite imagery. In this approach, a bilateral filtering is used to denoise firstly, and a new morphological approach which combines gray scale morphological processing and binary morphological processing is proposed for ROI extraction and feature enhancement. A detection operator based on the boundary shape information (BSI) is developed to detect enhanced objects. The experiments on images from Google Earth are discussed in the paper. The experimental results show that proposed approach is effective and feasible. Compared with other object detection approaches from high resolution satellite imagery such as PCA or MSNN, the proposed approach has better detection performance. Object-Oriented Method for Automatic Extraction of Road from High Resolution Satellite Images

As the information carried in a high spatial resolution image is not represented by single pixels but by meaningful image objects, which include the association of multiple pixels and their mutual relations, the object based method has become one of the most commonly used strategies for the processing of high resolution imagery. This processing comprises two fundamental and critical steps towar...

Object Level Strategy for Spectral Quality Assessment of High Resolution Pan-sharpen Images

Panchromatic and multi-spectral images produced by the remote sensing satellites are fused together to provide a multi-spectral image with a high spatial resolution at the same time. The spectral quality of the fused images is very important because the quality of a large number of remote sensing products depends on it. Due to the importance of the spectral quality of the fused images, its eval...

Comparing the Capability of Sentinel 2 and Landsat 8 Satellite Imagery in Land Use and Land Cover Mapping Using Pixel-based and Object-based Classification Methods

Introduction: Having accurate and up-to-date information on the status of land use and land cover change is a key point to protecting natural resources, sustainable agriculture management and urban development. Preparing the land cover and land use maps with traditional methods is usually time and cost consuming. Nowadays satellite imagery provides the possibility to prepare these maps in less ...

Object-based Building Detection from Lidar Data and High Resolution Satellite Imagery

This paper presents a scheme for building detection from LIDAR data and high resolution satellite imagery. The proposed scheme comprises two major parts: (1) segmentation, and (2) classification. Spatial registration of LIDAR data and high resolution satellite images are performed as data pre-processing. It is done in such a way that two data sets are unified in the object coordinate system. Th...

Road Network Extraction from High Resolution Multispectral Satellite Imagery Based on Object Oriented Techniques

High Resolution satellite Imagery is an important source for road network extraction for urban road database creation, refinement and updating. However due to complexity of the scene in an urban environment, automated extraction of such features using various line and edge detection algorithms is limited. In this paper we present an integrated approach to extract road network from high resoluti...
